I couldn't ask for a better job....

Alright (She starts off with a happy sigh)…Blogging, blogging, blogging.

Anyways I want to talk about how much I love my job.

10:42 on Thursday night…. I was supposed to go out with my girlfriend Lindsay, who I actually met through the store, or maybe my other girlfriend Emily who I also met through the store. But I was exhausted because I was busy with my clients today (who are also my friends). Isn’t that cool? That’s really one of the main reasons I love my job so much. I have the most incredible people who shop in my store, who honestly become really good friends that I really value. They’re my clients, if we don’t end up going out for cocktails or going out for dinner, I value them as well. Even though with some of them, we may not have as intimate relationship, I really think they are just unbelievable people.

Leslie, one of my clients, who has been a client for years….she’s so darling. She works for Studio, and she’s just so cute… She really made it fun today. She was in shopping for her friend, actually selling to her friend who lives in Utah. She really cared what her friend looked like, and ended up sending her a few sweaters. I just thought it was so cute, and she works for a Studio, it’s not even her job. It’s not her gig, she’s not a sales girl. She hasn’t been shopping this year, but today she got some fantastic pieces to integrate into her wardrobe, that will honestly make it all brand new. She got this fantastic Modern Amusement blazer, that is such a great price and it’s so beautiful on. She also had on this stunning 3.1 purple rhinestone top- that I’m mad for. Her third piece was this cropped Autumn Cashmere 50’s style sweater with the ruffled collar. It’s breath taking, I’ve got it two colors—and I’m mad for it! Everything looked beautiful, and it will just freshen up entire wardrobe.

Another one of my clients Jessica, who I swear has been my customer for probably 8 years, maybe even 9…but since she moved out here…and she’s so darling. Anyways Jessica is a writer and is absolutely beautiful as well…. She also hasn’t been shopping a lot this year. But she came in and got some fantastic pieces, to put in her wardrobe, mix them all up and make it look beautiful. She got this great purple Geren Ford dress/ tunic…well you can wear it as a tunic, but I would wear it as a dress and Jess is wearing it as a dress. She has this silvered metallic Autumn Cashmere cardigan that is wonderful and it looked gorgeous over it. She got these navy cropped Elizabeth and James cigarette pants, well not cropped, but right to the ankle. She got this fantastic button down white Vince shirt to wear with the pants…. Oh and she got this ridiculously gorgeous strapless black Mason dress. That is uber sexy. And again she can wear the cardigan with the Vince blouse underneath it, it looks awesome.

There were a couple other pieces that right now I can’t remember for the life of me….

Anyways I just enjoyed spending time with them so much, and I really loved helping them freshening up their wardrobe. They were excited and I was excited…. They were just so lovely. You really couldn’t ask for better people; and that’s what I get to do every day. I get to go play dress up and dress other people up who love getting dressed up.

What a fun job, huh? ???

Sometimes we take ourselves too seriously.... lighten up!

Hi Guys it’s me…

Bethany is going to post a picture of herself, and I’m going to talk about her because she is the website manager, and she’s isn’t making me blog. What do you think? So now, we’re posting a picture of her… because I’m the boss, and I’m calling that rule. Now she’ll remember to make me blog.

I am talking to you about our Mailer. We send out a mailer every couple weeks to our website and in store customers, about our website and new products… this week was really funny. We got a bunch of laughs and that’s what makes it worth it for all of us. It’s not even about the orders… we just like making fun of ourselves, making fun of celebrities, making fun of fashion… making fun of it all… because we all take ourselves a little bit too seriously (and it’s fun to laugh at ourselves).

CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO SEE IT BIGGER AND READ THE DETAILS.

The clothes are fabulous in the blog. I was “Diva Mendes”, and “Sophie” our mannequin always beats us, because she’s a rockstar and we’re not. Anyways, I was Diva Mendes and I was wearing a Mason dress, Luciano Padovan shoes, and an Andrea Gutierrez necklace. I actually own all three pieces and I love all three. We showed you how Sophie can wear it with a button down blouse underneath and booties. If I were actually dressing a customer, I’d probably put it with a pair of textured tights or maybe a shiny pair of leggings, something super cute! The white blouse makes it so serious, I would just funk it up a little bit.

Next, on “Khianna”, our very own Kianna (her real name is Kianna) which just happened to rhyme with Rhianna. She’s wearing our fantastic Development jacket, this leather jacket that I love so much, and Luciano Padovan suede boots. (Everything by Luciano Padovan is obscenely comfortable, they ROCK!) We also just got a bunch new Gold Sign jeans, which are so cute because their new pockets are amazing. Kianna is also in Gold Signs and our sunglasses by Sophia Kokosolaki, along with our 3.1 Phillip Lim purse. (Which I love). It’s pony, it’s rad, it’s hot. Sophie is wearing the same glasses as Kianna, with the same suede boots, paired with the dress by Na-Be. This is the fashion created by Victoria Hong from Project Runway. She wasn’t my favorite on the show, I think she had a bit of an attitude but I do love her designs and taste in fashion.

Then next was Pamela, that’s my store manager, she’s my right hand person. Pamela Lin as actress “Laney Liu” at the “Bleu Angels” premiere. She’s wearing a white one shoulder top Black Halo top that I own and I love love love. I actually just wore it to Maestro’s the other night. I wore it with a high waisted Black Halo skirt (which we have in the store also). I paired it with the new Luciano Padovans , that I was wearing as Diva Mendes. I swear to you I got stopped 20 times, I’m not exaggerating. It’s pretty fabulous.

So she’s wearing that top with a black Catherine Malandrino pencil skirt, and black Luciano Padovans. (The most comfortable, most sexy shoes ever). Our Sophie, who’s leaving Club Bleu is wearing the same shirt, with the new Gold Sign jeans, Luciano Padovan shoes… with the new Linea Pelle belt and bag. We just got a huge shipment of Linea Pelle, we got the purses and belts and they rock, they are amazing. Plus they’re already selling out rapidly, so stop by or check em’ out online.

Last but not least… which I just can’t handle how much I love the coffee cup in “Terri Tate Olsen’s” hands (you know who we’re talking about….she looks just like her)…. She’s wearing a gorgeous 3.1 Phillip Lim shirt, (one of my best friends Nancy just got it today) it’s so amazing, it’s sheer in the back. Really it’s gorgeous. Along with this fantastic faux fur Charlotte Ronson vest, that is super inexpensive for what it is, and LnA really shiny leggings. They are so flattering they suck everything in! Any fat days, suck it in., go buy them. Don’t worry about the risk, they’re super flattering and sexy! Also she’s wearing the grey suede lace up Dolce Vita shoes and the large black leather Martine Sitbon bag . Sophie is in the same top, with the Elizabeth & James cropped blazer (which I think pretty much almost sold out, we may have one size left), with Ya Ya (Aflalo) trousers….which aren’t as wide leg as they are on Sophie…. And Luciano Padovan peeptoes.

We laugh at ourselves, we have no problem if you laugh at us… we just have so much fun doing it and we hope you all enjoy it.

Bye for now

Shoe-La-La!!!

(Click the image to view larger)

Hey guys,

I totally forgot that I told you that I would take a picture of me and my outfit today. (So I’m not the cutest that I’ve ever been.) Had I remembered I would have made myself super foxy for y’all but you know, you gotta take what you can get. You’re getting me not so foxy. In fact, you’re getting me in not last summer but the summer before Robert Rodriguez dress. It’s still hot here. How come the weather men never ever ever know what their talking about. Poor Dallas (Raines), now he’s not just orange, his hair is bad. We will show you a picture of that too.
Anyways, but that’s who we listen to our weather from so no wonder.

I don’t think he knows what’s going on these days.

Anyway, but I am wearing new shoes. They’re really super super cute Dolce Vita shoes.

They look Über expensive but their not. They’re totally inexpensive, they’re like a hundred something dollars ($174). Also, I’m wearing a beautiful beautiful black leather jacket from Veda. I am wearing two things from this Fall collection that I love. You guys have to check them out!

Black leather jacket from Veda, and grey suede Dolce Vita shoes. Super super cute!

We uploaded pictures of me. Basically the idea behind our photo comic, is that "decisions suck!"

I hate making decisions. If I could wear 19 things a day, I would wear 19 things a day. I really would. (Giggling in the background) There’s Bethany laughing in the background.

Oh just so all you all know, I just talk into a recorder, and someone transcribes everything I say into this blog. So a lot of times your just getting my thoughts, completely unedited thoughts, and then the girls just document it all; so its kind of crazy, I know. So not only are you getting my ideas what to buy for Spring, and what to design for my line, you're also in my brain. Which can be a little weird and clustered at times.

Anyhow, I hope you guys have a fabulous weekend and stay positive!
Don’t listen to the media, please stop listening to the media, stay positive... no fear!

Bye!

Bikini's in October??

It’s October 7th and its 95 degrees, so I have to summons my inspiration, because I’ll tell you right now I want to make bikinis, that’s it, bikinis. Little tiny itsy bitsy, no I don’t want polka dot bikinis, I want like funky fabulous bikinis with jewelry on them. Bikinis with belly chains and coins dripping on the side, but we are not going to talk about bikinis now we will talk about bikinis in the Spring.

It was 70 here on Saturday and I wore the most fantastic sweater dress. I swear Tis’ the Season of the sweater dress. We have better sweater dresses by more designers. I actually picked up more designers this season because of the brilliant sweater dresses out there. There were too many to choose from, and me being me, I don’t choose I just get them all.

If you looked in my shoe closet you would totally get it. I wore this fantastic sweater dress by Adam. Its navy blue and it’s so hard to explain because it will sound very tacky, but you should go online and look at it. It’s very tight, navy blue, little sweater dress, with these great flowers but the neckline is really wide open so it kind of falls off the shoulder. I’m going to photograph it the next time I wear it, or next time I wear something that’s fall.

It’s supposed to be 100 here tomorrow so again I’ll be thinking about bikinis and swimming pools and hotel pools. However, Thursday its suppose to be going down to the 70’s so I’ll be busting out something else and I will take a photograph of whatever I’m wearing and we’ll post it.

Go online and look at the navy blue sweater dress by Adam. I had mine shorten of course because that’s just who I am and what I like to do, but I actually shorten it for almost everybody except for one of my clients who is one of my best friends, Kathy, but she liked the length, its fabulous.

I’m loving all the jewel tones this year. Jewel tones aren’t my thing but they look good on so many people. They’re not my thing because I don’t love them, I do love them, I love them a lot. I don’t look good in them as most people do. Purples, greens, reds, navys, and these vibrant gorgeous blues. More like silvers, they’re fabulous and beautiful. If I could use one word to describe fashion this season I guess I would say rich, you know, like rich colors, rich fabrics. Just beautiful beautiful pretty pretty things.

Also, I am really into all the vests. I love vests. I just think they are so sexy if you wear them right. Your not suppose to wear them like the boys. Wear them like sexy girls. Some of them look fabulous with a buttoned down shirt, but I prefer more of doing a vest over a little mini dress, or doing a vest over a wife beater. You know wearing a vest with a little bit of an attitude.

Anyway that’s about it til tomorrow, maybe we won’t talk tomorrow it’s going to be too hot to talk. Maybe I’ll talk to you on Thursday, I will, Thursday, Thursday the 9th. Be there or be square!

Hello from Fashion Week!

Original date Wednesday September 17th, 2008

New York, New York, New YorkNew York….To me, it’s Las Vegas without the swimming pools. It’s Las Vegas with work, and it’s crazy. You’re up all night, but you have to work all day.

Anyways, I am here to buy for Spring 2009. It’s kind of exciting to see what’s coming out. It’s fabulous, everything is fitted, sexy, and fantastic again. No more “ babydoll”. Though you can take all your baby doll dresses, and cinch it with a large wide belt or tiny skinny belt. Whichever, the point is, to show your waist. Though I’m kind of over the black , grey , and purple. Spring is going to be uber exciting… Imagine if Sophia Loren in the 70’s was a Hippie. Think “Super Glam, running through the streets of Southern Italy.” So far it’s lots of colors, lots of different fabrics and textures; things like chiffons mixed with embroidered cottons. There’s a lot of crochet…. Think of gauzes, embroideries, cottons, red leathers, and whites… but full feminine. (Not Birkenstock Hippie, or Shapeless Hippie…) Boobs out, showing the waistline, full skirted Hippie. Fabulous, supergirls, feminine Italians… whatever it is…but we get to be sexy and pretty and fabulous again. I love it! I’m seeing bold colors; reds and oranges, purples and pinks… I’m seeing them in separates, also together in these huge vibrant prints. I’ve seen a lot of dresses, actually I haven’t bought any pants yet. But that’s what working on, we’re going to be designing some fabulous pants with my clothing line (which we’re designing for Spring). Our line will be available in Bleu at both stores this coming Spring, but won’t be at Market, until next Fall 2009 (to sell for Spring 2010). You’ll have to stop by our store in LA or Westlake Village, or check out our site at bleuclothing.com for an early preview… and it’s going to be so fun and fabulous. It’s going to be everything you can’t find in the Market , but you want….and I’d love to hear your feed back. Tell me what you’d love to see in the market and I’d love to design it for you and make it beautiful if I find it fit to be fabulous.

It’s very exciting….Until next time girls and boys….boys who like to dress up in girls clothes…

Ciao!

P.S. ….Oh and did I mention the boys? There are so many good boys in New York City…but we’ll talk about that later.

Greetings friends...Welcome to my Blog !

Original blog date (Friday September 12th, 2008)

Hello and welcome to my blog! This is my very first time blogging… my name is Gabrielle Zuccaro, and we are going to have an adventure.

I am starting a clothing line this year. I already have two great clothing stores; Bleu Clothing in LA that has been open since May of 1998 and one in Westlake Village that we opened last year… Almost exactly a year to the date. (I think it is a year today… Wow, that’s ironic.) Also a website bleuclothing.com

It’s so fantastic, I love it and am I’m here to share with you everything I do! I do management, I do sales, I do buying, I do cleaning, mopping, sewing, and now blogging. Everything, everything, everything and now I’m designing!

So we’re going to learn together. I am going to learn from you, you’re going to learn from me and I think it’s going to be exciting. So if you’re interested I would love to share with you everything I know…

I am leaving for New York tomorrow (to go to Market for Fashion Week) and I am going to show you everything I like. Everything from flying into Newark from Los Angeles instead of Leguardia or JFK, because the planes usually land on time and leave on time. Actually I usually land early which is super cool. If you fly into LaGuardia or JFK, you're always late and always stuck on a runway... so don’t ever do that when you’re flying into New York for Fashion Week or just for the shows.

I stay at the Maritime Hotel which is in the Meat Packing District. The reason I stay there, is because it’s super fun but it’s also centrally located. It’s right in the middle of everything; because when you’re in New York and you’re buying during fashion week, you have to go all over the place.( It’s not like the Los Angeles Market where you only go to one place) So you’re going Uptown, Downtown, Mid-town, Meat Packing district… all over the city. So I love staying in the Meat Packing district just because it’s really close to the shows, the Cotery, the showrooms, the designers and the agents in the trade shows.

I’m excited to share all those things with you and hopefully, together we’re going to find great new lines for Spring ’09. I am going to upload pictures and I would love to hear your feedback…I want to know what you guys think of everything I’m buying or thinking of buying.

Also, I would love to help you guys open a store, design a line, or start a website. I’ve been in this business since I was fourteen and it’s the only thing I know…It’s what I love, love, love!!! I would have been a great undercover agent but fashion got me first J

I could have been in the CIA, I would have been fantastic. I love dressing up in all those clothes, like ‘Alias” totally my thing, but I do play it every single day. Some days I wake up and think I want to be Norma Kamali ’88, other days I wake up I want to be Halston ’77.

Today I don’t know, but I’ll let you know… I’ll show you pictures…I’ll show you what we are wearing…and what we’re thinking of wearing… I’d love to hear your feedback and opinions. It’s nice meeting you and I’m looking forward to working with you!

Talk to you soon,

xoxo
